The Zyxel Nebula integration uses the external captive portal option in Nebula Control Center combined with RADIUS authentication. CaptiveWiFi provides both the portal URL and RADIUS credentials.

Log into Nebula Control Center
Access your Nebula Control Center dashboard at nebula.zyxel.com. Navigate to your site and open the wireless settings for your guest network.

Create or select your guest SSID
Under Wireless → SSIDs, create a new SSID for guest access or select an existing one. Set the security mode to Open (captive portal handles authentication).

Enable captive portal and select external type
In the SSID settings, go to Captive Portal and enable it. Select External Web Portal as the portal type so guests are redirected to your CaptiveWiFi splash page.

Set the external portal URL and walled garden
Paste your CaptiveWiFi portal URL into the External Portal URL field. Add getonline.captivewifi.io and captivewifi.fra1.digitaloceanspaces.com to the walled garden list so the splash page loads before login.

Add the RADIUS server credentials
Under Authentication, add a RADIUS server using the IP address, port (1812) and shared secret provided by CaptiveWiFi support. Assign the RADIUS profile to your guest SSID.

Save and go live
Save your changes in Nebula Control Center — they propagate to your APs automatically. Connect a test device to the guest SSID to confirm the portal loads and grants access after login.

Common questions about
Zyxel Nebula + CaptiveWiFi.

Which Zyxel access points are supported?
Any Zyxel access point that is Nebula-compatible is supported. This covers the full NWA and WAX series — including the NWA110AX, NWA210AX, WAX510D, WAX610D, WAX630S and more. If the AP is managed by Nebula Control Center, it works with CaptiveWiFi.
Does the integration require Nebula Pro?
The external captive portal feature used by CaptiveWiFi is available on the standard Nebula licence. Nebula Pro adds additional management features but is not required for the CaptiveWiFi integration to function.
Can I use this with standalone Zyxel access points (not Nebula-managed)?
The CaptiveWiFi integration is designed for Nebula-managed deployments. Standalone Zyxel APs that are not enrolled in Nebula Control Center use a different configuration interface and may not expose the same external captive portal options. Contact our support team to discuss your specific hardware setup.
